1994-95 Results The NHL owners locked out the players just prior to the start of the 1994-95 regular season. The lockout lasted into January when both sides finally hammered out an agreement and the games began. The Canucks finished with 48 points in 48 games, good enough for sixth place in the Western Conference. Pavel Bure led the team in goals (20) and points (43) while Kirk McLean played in 40 games, posting a record of 18-12-10. In the first round playoff match with St. Louis, the Canucks played a see-saw battle with the Blues before finally taking the series in seven games. Would we see a repeat of the previous season? No. The Canucks were eliminated in the second round by Chicago in four straight games (three of which went into overtime). On May 27, 1995, the Canucks played their final game in the Pacific Coliseum. Despite the disappointing loss, fans gave the team -- and their rink -- a standing ovation. |
